In the reference 2nd read above, the Government have informed the Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam that currently the a) Vaddera b) Rajaka & the c) Fishermen communities are listed out amongst the Socially and Economically Backward Classes of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the BC.A category at Sl.No.37, Sl.No.5 & Sl.No.1 respectively, as notified in the G.O.Ms.No.1793, Education, dated 23-9-1970, as modified from time to time and several representations from the public/ associations/ public representatives, for the inclusion of a) Vaddera b) Rajaka and c) Fishermen communities in the list of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of Andhra Pradesh have been received and the Government have decided to conduct a study on the living conditions of Vaddera, Rajaka and Fishermen communities to make recommendations regarding the suitability of inclusion of these communities, either in the list of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes in the State of Andhra Pradesh, and have also decided to entrust the study to the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.   

 

  1. Therefore, the Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam was  requested to take necessary action to conduct the study on living conditions of the Vaddera, Rajaka and Fishermen communities in the State of Andhra Pradesh and to make recommendations regarding the suitability of inclusion of these communities, either in the list of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes in the State of Andhra Pradesh, and to furnish the same to Government through the Director of Social Welfare, A.P. & the Director of Tribal Welfare, A.P., as the case may be, as the Director of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh is appointed as the Nodal Officer and is instructed and authorized to provide the necessary funds & logistics support to the Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam for the conduct of the study.   

 

  1. The Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam & the Director of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh were requested to take all the necessary steps & to ensure that the study is completed and submitted to the Government in a period  of (3) months.

 

  1. In the reference 3rd read above, the Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam has proposed the names of the following Professors for conducting study on the living conditions of Vaddera, Rajaka and Fishermen communities :  

 

    1. Prof R.D.Sampath Kumar, Department of Social Work, AU. College of Arts and Commerce.
    2. Prof A.B.S.V.Ranga Rao, Department of Social Work AU. College of Arts and Commerce.
    3. Prof RD.Satyapal Kumar, Department of Anthropology, AU. College of Arts and Commerce.

 

  1. In the reference 5th read above, the Director of Social Welfare, AP, Tadeplli has recommended to approve the names of the above mentioned Professors as proposed by the Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, for the proposed study.

  1. The Government after careful examination of the above proposal of Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam & the Director of Social Welfare, AP, Tadeplli hereby agree to entrust the study on the living conditions of Vaddera, Rajaka and Fishermen communities to the panel of Professors  mentioned at Para (4) above and further direct the Director of Social Welfare, AP, Tadeplli to coordinate and ensure that the study is completed within a period of  (3) months .  

 

  1. The Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and the Director of Social Welfare, AP shall take necessary action in the matter duly following the instructions issued in the reference 2nd read above.
